About the position

The Title III Grant Manager for the Ka Ipu Hookele Waa Grant at the University of Hawaii is responsible for the overall coordination and management of the college's Title III Collaborative Grant, focusing on Indigenous Digital Storytelling. This role involves overseeing grant staff, developing educational activities, collaborating with faculty, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements. The position aims to enhance student success through professional development opportunities and effective program administration.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate activities and reporting for the Title III Collaborative Grant - Ka Ipu Hookele Waa.
  • Manage and oversee grant staff, including various coordinators and student employees.
  • Develop and coordinate grant-related activities such as seminars and workshops on Indigenous Hawaiian storytelling.
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff from multiple campuses to align with program objectives.
  • Lead assessment and evaluation of grant activities, ensuring data-driven insights for program improvement.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for the Department of Education, ensuring compliance with grant requirements.
  • Oversee grant budget and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Collaborate with various departments and organizations to achieve grant objectives.
  • Travel between campuses as required for effective coordination.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Hawaiian Studies, Education, Business, Communication, Psychology, or related field.
  • 3 years of progressively responsible professional experience in grant coordination or management.
  • Working knowledge of indigenous Hawaiian traditions and culture.
  • Experience in fiscal management, including budgeting and procurement.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex problems creatively and effectively.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
