About the position

The Academic Technology Support Specialist at ATS Institute of Technology plays a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience by providing IT support and assistance to faculty, staff, and students. This position focuses on the development and enhancement of instructional activities, ensuring that all technological aspects of education are effectively managed and supported. The specialist will work closely with the academic team to maintain and implement preventive measures for various educational technologies, contributing to the institution's mission of delivering high-quality healthcare education.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with providing basic training and technical support to learners in classrooms, labs, and distance learning settings.
  • Assists with the design and development of multimedia learning materials.
  • Assists with school-wide user login support and print management.
  • Responds and troubleshoots hardware and software problems.
  • Responds to faculty and staff needs for operational issues and provides assistance with operating equipment.
  • Performs campus repairs, preventative maintenance, and functionality testing of staff, computer labs, and classroom equipment.
  • Provides training workshops to students, faculty, and staff on various technologies.
  • Anticipates and meets all customer needs accurately and professionally.
  • Timely addresses IT tickets and requests to full resolutions.
  • Participates in professional development to stay abreast of industry best practices and current technology trends.
  • Provides training and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms.
  • Provides support for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and disseminating data as requested.
  • Provides support for faculty development and engagement programs and activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • Minimum two years of customer service experience and desktop support experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated record of interacting professionally with internal and external customers
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks/responsibilities and prioritize work appropriately
  • Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of a diverse population.
