About The Position

The Accelerated Reader (AR) Facilitator at IDEA Quest College Prep is responsible for fostering a dynamic and engaging learning environment that promotes student reading achievement. This role involves setting ambitious reading goals, tracking student progress, and providing targeted interventions for struggling students. The facilitator will work closely with students, families, and staff to ensure that every student develops the necessary academic and social skills for success in college, while embodying IDEA's core values. This position is grant-funded, with responsibilities strictly aligned to the grant's allowable activities.

Requirements

• At least 48 college hours or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 1+ year(s) of experience working with children in a classroom or volunteer setting.
• Ability to interpret and manage multiple sets of data to support student progress.
• Strong computer and technology skills, including troubleshooting abilities.
• Basic knowledge of curricula and instructional practices.
• Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior.
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with data analysis in an educational setting.
• Familiarity with Accelerated Reader software and its implementation.

Responsibilities

• Motivate students to participate in reading activities and testing in Accelerated Reader.
• Create a positive learning environment in line with IDEA culture.
• Actively coach students to ensure they are reading and testing on books within their appropriate ZPD level.
• Maintain a positive reading atmosphere and ensure daily reading and testing.
• Interpret and manage online Accelerated Reader data to monitor student progress.
• Communicate and collaborate with ELA teachers and school administrators about student progress.
• Maintain the Accelerated Reader library book collection and complete end-of-year inventory.
