Stanford University, located in the heart of California's Silicon Valley, is a leading teaching and research institution dedicated to addressing significant challenges and preparing students for leadership roles. The Residential & Dining Enterprises (R DE) is the largest auxiliary organization at Stanford, supporting the university's academic mission by providing high-quality services to students and the broader university community. With an annual operating budget exceeding $350 million, R DE operates 24/7/365 and manages a $3 billion asset portfolio, which includes a 7 million square foot physical plant across the campus. R DE serves over 13,000 students and dependents, offering meals at 17 dining halls and 12 retail locations, alongside athletic concessions and conference operations. The department employs around 900 full-time staff across various divisions, including Student Housing Operations, Stanford Dining, and Maintenance Operations, all committed to the mantra of “Students (Customers) First.” The Access Control Administrator role is essential and requires the incumbent to work onsite, as telecommuting is not an option. This position involves performing specialized and diverse work activities while overseeing larger complex buildings for the university. The administrator will coordinate solutions independently, supporting operations, maintenance, repair, inventory tracking, and refurbishing activities related to the physical environment and building systems of complex facilities. These facilities are characterized by greater regulatory and safety risks to the Stanford community. The role includes managing the hardware and system functionality of electronic access systems, assisting with system troubleshooting, and collaborating with the Locksmith team on installation planning. Additionally, the administrator will co-manage key and core combination hierarchies and maintain building keying records, ensuring the integrity of the keying system through audits and oversight of keying projects. Core duties include serving as the point of contact for facilities' issues, managing maintenance and renovations budgets, coordinating routine maintenance services, and implementing facility security programs. The administrator will also oversee project coordination, safety management, and communications services, ensuring effective space management and planning activities. The role may involve supervising assigned staff and maintaining the R DE Key Database, preparing core combinations, and managing keying projects. The position requires a bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, along with strong analytical and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of individuals.
