The position involves interviewing patients and/or family members who require inpatient or outpatient services at the Medical Center. This occurs during various stages such as pre-admission, admission, while in-house, or at discharge. Interviews may take place in different locations including the bedside in the Emergency Department (ED), Main Admitting, or various outpatient locations. The role requires accurate entry of all demographic and insurance information into the hospital registration system, performing verification functions to ensure positive patient identification, complying with HIPAA privacy regulations, and ensuring accurate upfront cash collection and appropriate insurance reimbursement.
