Access Your Future is a sponsorship program designed for students who are interested in pursuing a career as a Service Technician in the equipment industry. This program not only provides a clear career path for qualified students but also offers an educational incentive upon successful completion of an approved diesel program. The Access Your Future Service Intern path allows students to gain part-time employment at a sponsoring store while they continue their education. Upon graduation from an accredited diesel technology program, students who have been sponsored are offered full-time employment opportunities. While enrolled in the program, students are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and fulfill any required internships. Specific duties include being enrolled in an approved Diesel Technology program or another program that has been approved in writing by RDO Equipment Co. Students will have the opportunity for part-time paid employment at a sponsoring store, contingent upon store location, while attending college. Additionally, there may be opportunities for full-time paid employment during the academic breaks between college years at the sponsoring store location. The program also offers sponsored students who graduate an educational incentive over a two or four-year period, provided they maintain full-time employment with RDO Equipment Co. Students will receive company-provided work uniforms and will be eligible for the RDO Equipment Co. tool discount program with Matco upon transitioning to full-time employment. It is the responsibility of the students to provide RDO Equipment Co. with copies of their transcripts after each quarter or semester, as well as their diploma, to receive reimbursement upon full-time employment. Students must adhere to the academic policies, rules, and regulations set forth by their respective higher learning institutions. In addition to academic responsibilities, students will be required to document machine information and repairs completed on work orders, including parts and fluids used. Maintaining a clean work area and caring for all shop tools, machines, and equipment is essential. Students are expected to identify and communicate solutions for customer service opportunities within the dealership's area of responsibility and maintain technical and product knowledge on all equipment sold within that area. Safety is paramount, and students must follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments, adhering to all policies and procedures as specified in company manuals and the employee handbook. Professional conduct in the presence of customers and the community is expected to uphold the image of RDO Equipment Co. Students are encouraged to proactively seek and participate in company-sponsored training to enhance their knowledge and skills. Participation in company communication efforts, such as open book meetings and department meetings, is also required. Maintaining a positive and professional working relationship with peers, management, and support resources is crucial, with a constant commitment to teamwork and exemplary customer service. Finally, students may be assigned additional duties by management as needed, which should be performed in a professional and efficient manner.
