About the position

The Accessibility Trainer (Learning and Development Specialist 2) at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is responsible for designing and implementing training programs focused on accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equity within health systems. This full-time position aims to support OHA's strategic goal of eliminating health inequities in Oregon by 2030. The role involves providing technical consultation, accessibility testing, and developing training materials to enhance the skills of OHA staff and community partners.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement training and learning opportunities for OHA staff and community partners around accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
• Provide accessibility testing and evaluation, technical consultation, and training on program design and policy development.
• Act as a subject matter expert and provide oversight and technical support for the learning management system.
• Collaborate with internal and external groups to address racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes.

Requirements

• Five years of work experience designing, planning, and implementing adult education courses or applying web-based technologies in a blended learning environment.
• A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for three years of the required work experience.
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development around anti-racism and health equity.
• Extensive experience with assistive technology and UX design principles.
• In-depth knowledge of digital accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508, etc.).
• Solid foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to accessibility.

Nice-to-haves

• Certification in digital accessibility such as CPACC, ADS, or CPWA.
• Experience remediating documents and websites for accessibility.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
