About the position

The Accessibility Trainer (Learning and Development Specialist 2) at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is responsible for designing and implementing training programs focused on accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equity. This full-time position aims to support OHA's strategic goal of eliminating health inequities in Oregon by 2030. The role involves providing technical consultation, accessibility testing, and developing training materials that address racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement training and learning opportunities for OHA staff and community partners around accessibility and health equity.
  • Provide accessibility testing and evaluation, technical consultation, and training on program design and policy development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide oversight for the learning management system.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address training and development issues related to accessibility.
  • Support the development of culturally and linguistically appropriate programs.

Requirements

  • Five years of experience in designing and implementing adult education courses or navigating accessibility solutions.
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field may substitute for three years of experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development around anti-racism and health equity.
  • Extensive experience with assistive technology and UX design principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of digital accessibility standards (WCAG, ADA, Section 508).
  • Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to accessibility.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in digital accessibility (e.g., CPACC, CPWA).
  • Experience remediating documents and websites for accessibility.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
