About the position

The Accessibility Trainer (Learning and Development Specialist 2) at the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) is a full-time, limited duration position focused on designing and implementing training programs that promote accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equity within health systems. This role aims to help OHA achieve its strategic goal of eliminating health inequities in Oregon by 2030. The trainer will provide technical consultation, accessibility testing, and develop learning opportunities for OHA staff and community partners.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement training and learning opportunities for OHA staff and community partners around accessibility, diversity, inclusion, and equity.
  • Provide accessibility testing and evaluation, technical consultation, and training on program design and policy development.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide oversight and technical support for the learning management system.
  • Collaborate with internal and external groups to address racial and ethnic disparities in health outcomes.
  • Provide expertise and technical assistance to agency staff and program customers.

Requirements

  • Five years of work experience designing, planning, and implementing adult education courses, or applying web-based technologies in a blended learning environment.
  • OR five years of work experience navigating accessibility solutions or designing, planning, and implementing organizational development strategies.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for three years of the required work experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development around anti-racism and eliminating health inequities.
  • Extensive professional or lived experience using assistive technology.
  • Extensive experience with UX design principles and digital accessibility standards.
  • Certification in digital accessibility such as CPACC, ADS, or CPWA.
