About the position

The Accessory Assembly Technician role involves making modifications to emergency vehicles for city, police, EMS, and fire departments. The technician will collaborate with Lead Installers and Bay Managers to assist in the up-fitting process, ensuring that vehicles are equipped with necessary components and systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vehicle breakdown, including removing bumper skirts, fenders, seats, interior trim, headlights, taillights, and fog lights.
• Install basic components such as push bumpers, vehicle partition cages, rear ABS seats, lock boxes, window bars, etc.
• Re-assemble vehicle components.
• Mount basic light heads onto the body of a vehicle.
• Install interior light heads in the front windshield and rear windows of vehicles.
• Mount light bars to the roofs of vehicles.
• Use a crimper, stripper, and butt splice connectors to make proper wiring connections.
• Understand 12-volt systems and set patterns on remote light heads.

Requirements

• Experience with assembly, hand tools, and electrical wiring.
• Previous automotive interest/experience.
• Ability to work with hand tools.
• Experience with wiring and installation of audio or lighting equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical schematics, circuits, wiring diagrams, and wiring.
