About the position

The Accessory Development and Production Manager at Alice and Olivia is responsible for overseeing the design and production process of handbags and leather goods. This role involves driving the design from conception through to production, ensuring that all technical specifications are met and that the final products maintain the brand's quality and integrity. The manager will work closely with factories to resolve technical issues and ensure that all aspects of the product meet established standards.

Responsibilities

• Drive the design from conception through ideation to detailed tech packs, updating throughout the entire process.
• Ensure all styles are in work with follow-ups on x-dates, costing, sampling, and production timelines.
• Review samples for corrections including aesthetics, dimensions, hand feel, functionality, and workmanship.
• Identify, define, and resolve technical issues, partnering with factories to communicate comments effectively.
• Maintain established standards, details (including hardware), and integrity of the product.
• Provide callouts while reviewing the current line to maintain consistency.
• Create CADs for color options and color blocking.
• Establish innovative branding elements with hardware, design, and materials.

Requirements

• 5-7 years of experience in technical design on handbags/leathergoods is required.
• Thorough understanding of the design and development process from inception through production.
• Experience working with and in global factories is essential.
• Knowledge of leathergoods product construction and engineering is required.
• Advanced knowledge of industry construction standards and manufacturing, including materials (hardware, leather, fabric).
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and ability to create CADs.

Nice-to-haves

• Factory relationships are a plus.
• Understanding of new material development.

Benefits

• Base salary range of $100,000 - $115,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
