About The Position

The Accounts Payable/Receivable Associate I is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Medicare-related correspondence and payments. This role involves researching payment issues, reissuing payments, and processing refunds while adhering to regulations set by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). The associate will also address inquiries from both internal and external customers regarding payments and overpayments, ensuring high levels of accuracy and customer service.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED
  • 1-year experience in customer service, general office, accounting, or healthcare
  • Accurate data entry skills
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2 years' experience in accounting or healthcare
  • Effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic analysis and accounting transactions to process overpayment correspondence, refunds, and appeal requests/decisions.
  • Process cost report correspondence, including mail correspondence, cost report processing, tentative and final settlements, and appeals.
  • Update enrollment systems with applications processed by Provider Enrollment.
  • Maintain a high level of productivity and identify priority assignments in a time-sensitive workflow.
  • Build constructive working relationships with clients/customers and other work units to meet mutual goals.
  • Provide process improvement input to ensure departmental efficiency.
