The University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) is seeking an Accommodations Specialist within its Human Resources Department. This role is pivotal in ensuring that employees with disabilities receive the necessary accommodations as mandated by various laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Pregnancy Workers Fairness Act (PWFA), Fair Housing Act, and Title VII. The Accommodations Specialist will work closely with various departments across the campus to evaluate accommodation requests and facilitate the interactive process between employees, medical professionals, supervisors, and HR Business Partners. The Specialist will be responsible for receiving, researching, and evaluating requests for accommodations, determining their eligibility under the law, assessing the reasonableness of each request, and making recommendations for approval. This position also involves authoring accommodation recommendations and providing training and communication to employees and supervisors regarding accommodation processes. Additionally, the Specialist will ensure compliance with federal and state laws related to workplace accommodations and provide guidance to the campus community on these issues.
