About the position

The Account Coordinator position at Brown & Brown is designed to support the Employee Benefits Team in Meridian, ID. This role focuses on assisting Account Managers with various tasks related to employee benefits, ensuring accurate communication with carriers, and maintaining high levels of customer service. The position emphasizes teamwork and requires a commitment to confidentiality and responsiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Support a team of Account Managers
  • Review and update plan attributes in the Benefits Account Management System following each renewal
  • Work with carriers to request materials for customers (e.g., Open Enrollment materials) and/or follow up on previous requests made by the Account Managers
  • Support Account Managers with processing adds, terms or changes to employee enrollments
  • Communicate with carriers regarding customer billing discrepancies or simple claims issues
  • Generate personalized forms for each customer (e.g., Annual Compliance Notices)
  • Review carrier contracts for accuracy
  • Draft employee communications materials for peer review by Account Managers
  • Request information from insurance carriers on behalf of our customers
  • Read and respond to all emails within 1 business day
  • Maintain an appropriate level of confidentiality of information processed
  • Attend in-house educational sessions/classes as requested by leadership
  • Perform any other tasks the department deems necessary

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong computer literacy including Microsoft Office 365
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Acquire Life & Health License within 90 days of hire
