About the position

The Account Director for the Direct Impact Practice in Financial Communications at Burson will lead initiatives for a Fortune 100 Financial Services client. This role involves managing client relationships, overseeing project execution, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality work that meets client objectives. The position requires a strong public relations background, excellent writing skills, and the ability to innovate and manage complex client relationships effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day client projects and relationships to ensure quality work meets client objectives.
  • Draft, review, and edit various materials including newsletters, press releases, and opinion pieces.
  • Offer creative ideas and innovative thinking to enhance client work.
  • Support material development for new business proposals and presentations.
  • Maintain strong relationships with local partners, client teams, and internal teams.
  • Manage a team to ensure regular reporting and high-quality deliverables.
  • Execute and oversee projects around stakeholder and local media relations and events campaigns.
  • Handle additional ad hoc client and practice requests as needed.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of previous public relations work experience.
  • Excellent project and team management skills.
  • Experience managing grassroots/local earned media campaigns.
  • Strong client management skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills with high attention to detail.
  • Prior experience serving as a day-to-day account lead.
  • Financial and/or agency experience preferred.
  • Ability to manage complex client and internal relationships diplomatically.
  • Innovative thinking to develop creative solutions and new programs.
  • Team player ready to collaborate in a dynamic environment.
