About the position

The Account Director at Vantage Data Centers is responsible for managing the sales process and effectively representing the company's solutions to clients. This role requires a deep understanding of the data center market and the ability to adapt to changes quickly. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, results-driven, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively to achieve sales goals and generate new business. The position involves engaging directly with clients throughout various stages of the sales cycle, including managing RFP responses, customer expectation management, and liaising with internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Drive sales results as an individual account contributor
  • Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams
  • Provide quarterly results assessments of productivity
  • Act as a liaison between critical customer points of contact and Vantage counterparts
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal Vantage organization: Engineering, Construction, Legal, Finance
  • Build and maintain technical relationships with customer organizations: Site Selection, Engineering, Construction, Security, Network Engineering
  • Communicate with team members to keep up to date with daily issues and activities
  • Act as a point of contact for lease reviews/negotiations
  • Meet/Exceed all defined sales goals & ensure consistent quota attainment
  • Prepare and deliver proposals, facilitate design architectural overviews, and conduct guided tours of facilities for existing and potential customers
  • Manage Salesforce for all active pursuits
  • Support the account team lead in managing the leasing process from start to finish
  • Conduct in-depth product feature benefit discussions related to Vantage data center offerings
  • Participate in initial design reviews for new data center builds and customer-specific builds

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Engineering preferred
  • 10 years of sales-related experience
  • Excellent communication skills - both speaking and listening
  • Ability to lead new business development and existing account management
  • Strong organizational skills to stay focused on tasks
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with internal Vantage resources
  • Negotiation skills to enlist cooperation from customers and stakeholders
  • Empathy and relationship skills to understand customer concerns
  • High degree of competency in written and verbal communication
  • Proven public speaking skills
