About the position

The Account Executive at Vistar is responsible for managing a customer and geographical sales territory, ensuring customer needs are met while achieving budgeted sales and gross profit objectives. This role involves prospecting for new business, building trust with customers, and effectively managing the sales territory through strategic planning and regular communication. The position requires collaboration with various teams and the use of company tools to enhance customer relationships and drive sales success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a customer and geographical sales territory to meet customer needs and achieve sales objectives.
  • Prospect for new business and customers using effective sales techniques.
  • Build trust and credibility with customers by addressing their distribution and product needs.
  • Develop customer-specific strategies based on account volume and potential.
  • Utilize marketing materials and sales support tools effectively.
  • Communicate with local brokers and manufacturer representatives to uncover sales opportunities.
  • Follow through on commitments in a timely manner and advocate solutions that promote customer business strategies.
  • Communicate customer issues and needs to the distribution center customer service team regularly.
  • Utilize Vistar's information system and CRM to provide value to customer relationships.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent Experience
  • 2 - 4 Years Foodservice or vending sales experience
