About the position

Aon is seeking an experienced Account Executive & Broker III to join our Surety team, which is recognized as a leader in the industry. As one of the largest surety brokers, Aon represents both contract and commercial clients on a global scale, maintaining strong relationships with major surety companies. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and growing a diverse portfolio of surety clients, providing them with tailored advisory services that align with their specific needs and objectives. This role requires a deep understanding of the surety market, as well as the ability to navigate complex client requirements and deliver effective solutions. In this position, you will consult with clients to discuss market conditions and the various surety options available to them. You will be tasked with securing and managing surety facilities to meet clients' bond requirements, which involves thorough analysis and preparation of necessary documentation. Your role will also include managing existing surety relationships, leading meetings with sureties, and continuously monitoring clients' company structures and credit profiles to ensure optimal support for their surety programs. As the client team lead, you will collaborate closely with the client service team to manage day-to-day account operations, ensuring that clients receive the highest level of service. You will also be responsible for driving growth by working with internal sales producers and other team members to attract new clients and respond to requests for proposals (RFPs). Preparing and presenting surety proposals will be a key part of your responsibilities, requiring strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of surety clients.
  • Provide advisory services by outlining surety program options and guidance on recommended structures.
  • Consult with clients regarding surety market conditions and companies.
  • Secure and manage surety facilities to meet clients' bond requirements, including preparation of placement memorandums and negotiation of terms.
  • Manage existing surety relationships and moderate meetings with sureties as necessary.
  • Continuously monitor clients' company structure, operations, and credit profiles in support of their surety programs.
  • Lead the client service team in managing day-to-day account management of the surety business.
  • Deliver new solutions for clients by reviewing their needs and maximizing surety credit.
  • Collaborate with internal sales producers and other team members to drive growth and respond to RFPs.
  • Prepare and present surety proposals and presentations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the surety industry.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Well-developed communication and presentation skills.
  • Attention to detail and technical proficiency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with financial analysis and credit assessment.
  • Familiarity with contract and commercial surety markets.
