About the position

The Account Executive for Cities & Public Affairs at BerlinRosen will play a crucial role in managing client relations and executing strategic communications for high-profile accounts. This position involves leading project deliverables, supporting junior staff, and developing integrated strategies to address urban issues such as land use, housing, and sustainability. The role is based in New York and requires a passion for public affairs and the challenges faced by cities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategy and campaign planning for multiple high-profile client accounts
• Manage clients daily
• Engage with key reporters and editors
• Write and edit persuasive external and internal documents such as press releases, op-eds, fact sheets, talking points, editorial board memos and communications strategies
• Assist in the execution of a variety of public affairs tactics, including stakeholder engagement, in-person and digital grassroots organizing and paid advertising

Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of experience with strategic communications from working in politics, government or advocacy or with a PR agency, media outlet or in-house communications team
• Familiarity with New York City and State politics and media
• Ability to handle multiple assignments at once, work quickly and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Demonstrated relationships with reporters and strong news sense
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with varying levels of staff, clients, the media, etc.
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work with a team to meet group objectives
