About the position

As a Commercial Account Executive at Pendo, you will play a pivotal role in managing the entire deal cycle from generation to close. This position requires you to be the primary contact for customers, where you will be responsible for demonstrating the Pendo platform, providing technical assistance, and successfully navigating customers through a proof of concept. You will also be involved in negotiating contracts, ensuring that all aspects of the deal are handled efficiently and effectively. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with Sales Development Representatives to develop your territory and with Sales Engineers to provide the best solutions for our clients. We are looking for individuals who are intellectually curious and possess strong business acumen, particularly in the realm of SaaS software sales. A high technical aptitude is essential, as you will be accountable for devising a plan to meet your territory goals. In this role, you will be expected to work on full-cycle deals, from completing demos to closing sales. You will research and target new business opportunities using various prospecting tools, build and manage an account priority plan, and lead effective value discovery sessions to understand customer needs deeply. Additionally, you will guide customers through a 7-day free trial and proof of concept, negotiate contracts, and review legal terms. You will also receive in-depth SaaS sales training utilizing MEDDIC and Force Management methods, and you will be responsible for documenting all sales activities in Salesforce.com while effectively utilizing all sales technology tools.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 2+ years of closing experience in a B2B SaaS environment
  • Demonstrated consistent track record of goal attainment
  • Possess an understanding of SaaS financial metrics
