About the position

The Account Executive for Commercial Lines at HUB International is responsible for managing a significant book of business, providing professional account management and broking services to clients. This role emphasizes client retention, proactive consultation, and collaboration with internal teams to design insurance programs tailored to client needs. The Account Executive will also focus on organic growth through new accounts and cross-selling existing ones, while actively participating in industry best practices and community engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and retain a book of business valued at over $750,000.
  • Mentor and manage a team of Associate Account Managers and Account Managers.
  • Lead and integrate HUB client team resources with accounts by executing HUB's value proposition.
  • Produce organic growth through new, profitable accounts and cross-selling existing accounts.
  • Develop industry-specific knowledge relevant to the clients serviced and participate in industry best practice groups.
  • Deliver timely client services using the HUB Commercial Lines Service Platform.
  • Conduct exposure reviews on all accounts generating over $5,000 in revenue.
  • Build strong relationships with two carriers in desired expertise and lead the development of each account's underwriting story.
  • Assess competitive markets and develop a marketing strategy with the team.
  • Review contracts for insurance requirements and explain exposures to clients as needed.
  • Maintain one designation and work towards obtaining a LIC designation.
  • Participate in weekly team meetings, monthly sales training, and organization-wide development meetings.
  • Notify manager of any loss greater than $1,000 in revenue.
  • Represent HUB in the community and the insurance industry by participating in at least one association.

Requirements

  • High School Degree or Equivalent.
  • 5-7+ years in a Commercial Lines role on the agency side.
  • Experience working in the middle market with accounts averaging $15k in revenue and managing a book of business over $750K.
  • Experience presenting in front of C-Suite clients.
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Valid Property & Casualty License.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
