In this role, you will be responsible for the coordination and participation in the placement, service, and retention of assigned key commercial insurance accounts. You will work closely with designated Producers, exercising a high degree of independent discretion and decision-making based on your industry knowledge and experience. Your expertise will guide clients through complex insurance matters, fostering professional and collaborative relationships with carrier representatives, underwriters, and HUB colleagues. Your primary responsibilities will include managing the overall retention of accounts in your assigned book of business, developing and maintaining strong client relationships, and responding to daily client requests in a timely manner. You will lead all aspects of client service, including marketing strategy and renewal processes, while applying your judgment and creativity to produce favorable results. Additionally, you will negotiate terms and conditions directly with insurance carriers, manage the new business and renewal process, and resolve escalated service issues that require your experience-based judgment. As an Account Executive, you will also mentor and support Account Managers or Assistant Account Managers, ensuring consistent workflow and effective team collaboration. You will document all client interactions and maintain accurate data in HUB's systems, while continuously seeking opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling HUB's products and services. Your role will also involve preparing reports for management and attending industry-related training to stay updated on best practices and trends.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assigned book of business.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients to ensure that all insurance service needs are met.
  • Respond to daily client requests and ensure all their needs are handled in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Lead all aspects of client service, coordination of marketing strategy, and renewal of book of business.
  • Use judgment and creativity based on industry experience to produce favorable results and solutions to address clients' insurance needs.
  • Apply independent and discretionary judgment to make decisions on book of business, including non-routine coverage issues and questions.
  • Effectively manage the new business and renewal process including capturing exposure information and putting together complete submissions.
  • Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing directly with insurance carriers when centralized marketing is not utilized.
  • Acquire understanding of clients' business and insurance objectives and critically analyze and compare insurance programs to determine suitability.
  • Lead resolution of escalated complex service issues between clients and insurance carriers that require policy interpretation and experience-based judgment to resolve.
  • Lead client meetings, including renewal meetings, independent from producer or manager as needed.
  • Counsel clients on coverage issues, and research coverage as needed.
  • Maintain effective relationships with carrier markets while maintaining integrity of HUB NEE's centralized marketing model.
  • Coordinate the production and delivery of new business and renewal proposals, exposure/rate comparison and insurance summaries.
  • Effectively manage, develop, and delegate work to Account Manager or Assistant Account Manager, if applicable.
  • Support, mentor, and train Account Manager or Assistant Account Manager, as necessary.
  • Develop new business from existing accounts and assigned leads and contribute to meeting departmental production goals.
  • Document conversations with clients and carrier representatives and update all HUB computer systems and automated agency management systems when necessary.
  • Maintain awareness of the various HUB and/or industry resources and tools that are available and utilize them to best serve clients.
  • Be a technical resource to others including on 'House' accounts.
  • Review and/or arrange for review of contracts for clients as requested.
  • Prepare reports for management as required.
  • May handle collections of premiums due.
  • Attend industry related continuing education training and courses.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • 10+ years insurance brokerage or property casualty insurance experience in account management role preferred.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.

  • Strong organization and follow up skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
  • Applied EPIC Agency Management System experience preferred but not required.
  • Currently licensed in good standing.
