About the position

The Account Executive at Mohawk Industries is responsible for driving sales and expanding the company's Core Commercial business in the greater Central Illinois market. This role requires a business-minded individual who can thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple stakeholders, and exceed sales quotas by leveraging product knowledge and customer relationships. The Account Executive will work closely with sales management to enhance sales performance and profitability while providing exceptional customer service and support.

Responsibilities

  • Perform sales calls to customers and potential customers, providing information and support.
  • Make sales presentations to prospective and current clients.
  • Calculate and quote prices, take orders, and close transactions.
  • Contact prospects to explain product features and benefits, utilizing persuasive sales techniques.
  • Monitor territory performance against established objectives and take action to improve performance.
  • Provide customer service to resolve issues and communicate customer requirements to other departments.
  • Assist in establishing sales objectives for the territory in conjunction with the Regional Vice President.
  • Stay informed of industry, product, and economic changes that may impact sales.
  • Develop a territory coverage plan to meet goals.
  • Perform analysis on regional opportunities and develop sales forecasts.
  • Manage business expenses in accordance with corporate guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • 1-3 years of progressively responsible work-related experience.
  • Ability to learn and maintain in-depth knowledge of the company's diverse business and product lines.
  • Excellent presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with diverse groups and achieve results through teamwork.
  • Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze statistical and financial data.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in sales within the flooring or construction industry.
  • Familiarity with mohawkNet system for order tracking.
