About the position

The Employee Benefits Account Executive (AE) is responsible for strategic account management and consultative services for assigned clients, focusing on account strategy, client relationships, and retention. The AE collaborates with Producers and Account Managers to oversee the management of accounts, ensuring the delivery of HUB's value proposition throughout the policy cycle, including compliance, data analytics, and employee communications. The role involves proactive consultation, benefit program design, and negotiation of coverage terms, while also identifying opportunities for cross-selling and up-selling HUB products and services.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for account retention while acting as the de facto technical expert and consultant.
  • Directly oversee and coordinate the delivery of HUB's entire value proposition to assigned clients throughout the policy cycle.
  • Follow an annual service calendar that includes Compliance, Health and Performance Strategy, Pre-Renewal Strategy, Renewal, and Post-Renewal Debrief/Stewardship.
  • Ensure that all client service needs are promptly and professionally delivered.
  • Attend prospecting meetings with producer and assist in facilitating onboarding once the prospect has signed the Agent/Broker of record document.
  • Establish and maintain strong and productive professional relationships with 'C-Level' and other decision makers for assigned HUB clients.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-sell and up-sell of other HUB products and services.
  • Support, mentor, and develop service team members including Account Managers and Benefit Specialists.
  • Work with Account Managers to finalize contracts and contract renewals for both new and existing clients.
  • Responsible for all client inquiries, communications from insured and/or carriers and vendors, conflict resolution, and compliance on client deliverables.
  • Assist clients with claim resolution and appropriate coverage changes.
  • Provide regular two-way communication between the client and team.
  • Attend recurring client meetings and follow through on deliverables and action items as assigned.
  • Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, and that projects are profitable, achieving minimum allowable profitability targets.
  • Stay abreast of pertinent insurance and client business-related matters.

Requirements

  • 7+ years working for a carrier or brokerage firm.
  • License is required within 90 days of employment.
  • High School Diploma or Bachelor's degree (4-year degree) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - intermediate to expert user level preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented self-starter with ability to prioritize and control workflow deadlines.
  • Understanding of benefits & benefit terminology.
  • High degree of independence and problem-solving skills.
