About the position

The Account Executive for Employee Benefits at Alliant Insurance Services is responsible for collaborating with Employee Benefit Brokers and Consultants to develop and execute client-centered strategies. This role involves managing a book of business, directing a multi-disciplined service team, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality employee benefits solutions. The position offers opportunities for individual and career growth within a dynamic and expanding company.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Employee Benefit Brokers/Consultants on client strategies.
  • Manage a book of business and direct a service team.
  • Establish multi-year strategic plans and present them to clients.
  • Negotiate client financials and manage renewal processes.
  • Prepare and present renewals or marketing materials to executives and committees.
  • Guide clients through decision-making processes.
  • Maintain ownership of client deliverables by the service team.
  • Drive client calendars for the service team.
  • Lead the service team in executing strategic plans and renewals.
  • Mentor and inspire team collaboration and performance.
  • Participate in team selling processes, including finalist interviews and RFP responses.
  • Serve as a technical expert in underwriting and compliance matters.
  • Select carriers for solicitation and negotiate benefits and premiums.
  • Ensure compliance with agency management system data standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Eight (8) or more years of related work experience.
  • Valid insurance license and compliance with continuing education requirements.
  • Expert level knowledge of Employee Benefit products and administration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and presentation skills.
  • Good problem-solving and time management skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and prioritization skills.
  • Understanding of self-insurance and alternative funding arrangements.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
