As an Account Executive, you are a leader in the industry and client niches, with a deep understanding of business risks and financial implications. You will take charge of service execution, build a client base, and utilize sales methodologies and resources to effectively manage and expand your clients.

Responsibilities

  • Take charge of service execution and build a client base.
  • Utilize sales methodologies and resources to manage and expand clients.
  • Establish growth and retention strategy for a book of business and monitor implementation.
  • Cultivate and expand relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Provide needed information, creative solutions, and resolution of client issues.
  • Demonstrate a high level of consistency between words and actions across all business situations.
  • Prepare submission information for accounts and coordinate the marketing process.
  • Market and negotiate coverage, terms, and premium while fostering carrier relationships.
  • Demonstrate a broad understanding of insurance coverages, their applicability, exclusions, and basics of program design.
  • Visit clients to discuss renewals and manage account service requirements.
  • Respond to client inquiries on all facets of customer service including coverage review, analysis, recommendations, quoting, and claims assistance.

Requirements

  • 7+ years industry experience with in-depth knowledge of employee benefit plans, health care trends, and underwriting techniques.
  • Ability to establish growth and retention strategies for a book of business.
  • Experience in cultivating and expanding client relationships.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to provide creative solutions and resolve client issues.
  • Demonstrated accountability for results and consistency in actions.
  • Experience in preparing submission information and coordinating marketing processes.
  • Knowledge of marketing and negotiating coverage, terms, and premiums.
  • Broad understanding of insurance coverages, exclusions, and program design basics.
  • Experience in client visits for renewals and account service management.
  • Ability to respond to client inquiries with minimal guidance.

Nice-to-haves

  • Life & Health license preferred, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • BS/BA in Business, Insurance, or related field.
  • GBA, CEBS, VBS, or other professional insurance designations related to Benefits.
  • Experience working with Applied Epic, agency management system.
  • Willingness to travel for local and long-distance client meetings.
