About the position

The Account Executive for FinServ New Logos at Teradata is responsible for driving sales of Teradata solutions within the financial services sector. This role requires strong communication skills to engage with clients at various organizational levels, understanding their business needs, and articulating how Teradata's analytics and technology can enhance their operations. The position involves managing complex sales cycles, maintaining client relationships, and collaborating with internal teams to deliver tailored solutions that meet client objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Sell Teradata solutions into target accounts in the financial services space while meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Manage complex deal cycles and maintain accurate forecasting and deal status in CRM.
  • Set and maintain account strategy for overall client engagement.
  • Drive sales through direct and indirect coverage, leveraging Inside Sales Representatives and partners.
  • Understand clients' critical business initiatives and technology stack to provide relevant insights.
  • Manage the selling process across all business areas and close hardware, software, and services sales.
  • Lead account team direction, including account planning and business development meetings.
  • Engage with internal resources to bring expertise and specialized sales resources as needed.
  • Build and manage relationships with client decision-makers, including C-suite executives.
  • Coordinate team engagement with clients and serve as an escalation point for high-priority client issues.
  • Maintain knowledge of Teradata products and competitive offerings.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of quota-carrying sales or related customer interaction experience in business development.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Proven track record in closing sales and converting new prospects into customers.
  • Experience with CRM applications for documenting sales opportunities and forecasting.
  • Prior experience in the finance/banking industry is a plus.
  • Experience in Cloud, analytics, and consulting services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in selling Cloud Solutions, Data Platforms, Analytic Solutions, and Business Applications.
  • Customer relationship management experience at the C-suite level.
  • A good network with SI, ISV, and cloud service providers.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking to develop and solve business challenges.
  • Experience managing sensitive and highly political environments.
