About the position

Honeycomb Credit is seeking an experienced Account Executive to join our growing sales organization at our headquarters in Pittsburgh, PA. As a venture-backed loan crowdfunding platform, Honeycomb connects small businesses with their communities to unlock capital through crowdfunding. This role is pivotal in educating business owners about the benefits of running a Honeycomb campaign, assisting them in completing their applications, and collaborating with various teams to prepare businesses for fundraising. The Account Executive will work closely with inspiring Main Street entrepreneurs, becoming an expert in our community capital product to effectively communicate its advantages to potential clients. In this position, you will engage with small business owners through calls, texts, and emails, guiding them as they gather necessary documentation for their applications. You will nurture leads from various sources, including inbound inquiries, referrals, and cold outreach initiatives, supported by our sales development team. Your responsibilities will also include proactively reaching out to small business owners to build a network of potential clients, particularly in the Pittsburgh area, and establishing relationships with referral partners to attract more qualified businesses to our platform. The Account Executive will take ownership of the Pittsburgh market, working alongside lead generation, operations, marketing, and customer success teams to close deals and assist in onboarding small businesses to launch their Honeycomb campaigns. This role requires a highly self-motivated and goal-oriented individual who is persistent yet respectful, detail-oriented, and comfortable working remotely while maintaining strong connections with the Honeycomb team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting small businesses and a desire to contribute to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

  • Educate business owners on the benefits of running a Honeycomb campaign.
  • Assist business owners in completing their applications.
  • Work cross-functionally to prepare businesses for fundraising on Honeycomb.
  • Nurture and convert small business owners from various sources including inbounds, referrals, and cold outreach.
  • Sell leads on the value of a Honeycomb campaign and methods to maximize campaign success.
  • Proactively reach out to small business owners to build a network of potential clients in Pittsburgh and beyond.
  • Build relationships with referral partners to attract more qualified businesses to the platform.
  • Own the Pittsburgh market with support from lead generation, operations, marketing, and customer success teams.
  • Close deals and support the customer success team with onboarding small businesses to launch their Honeycomb campaigns.

Requirements

  • 4-6 years of experience in sales or business development working directly with small business clients.
  • Proven track record of closing deals.
  • Highly self-motivated and goal-oriented.
  • Persistent without being rude or overbearing.
  • Detail-oriented with a track record of keeping meticulous records in a CRM.
  • Comfortable working remotely while maintaining close ties with team members.
  • Ability to handle tough calls with prospects or customers with a positive attitude.
  • Team player who wants to see colleagues succeed.
