About the position

The Sales Account Executive at J.R. Simplot Company is responsible for executing a go-to-market strategy and achieving annual sales objectives within an assigned territory. This role focuses on managing trade spend, negotiating pricing, and ensuring compliance with marketing initiatives, primarily targeting distributors to drive business profitability through the Simplot product portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Profile and penetrate key operator accounts critical to territory sales success.
  • Embrace and execute the Simplot Sales Process and go-to-market strategies of the Food Service Division.
  • Communicate the selling benefits of the Simplot product line using a consultative approach.
  • Establish and develop relationships with key management and sales personnel at assigned focus distributors.
  • Accumulate information to understand various customers and interact as needed.
  • Lift and carry 30 pounds, conduct product demos, and work in a commercial kitchen.
  • Deliver on set sales goals and manage the product portfolio.
  • Represent the full Simplot product line in all sales capacities.
  • Conduct sales calls to key leverage operators in the market.
  • Recruit and establish new partnerships for product sales.
  • Build relationships with internal departments to accomplish key initiatives.
  • Research industry and marketing trends and develop product suggestions based on findings.
  • Promote and drive sales across the food service product portfolio.
  • Utilize the Simplot CRM system to drive efficiency and results.
  • Drive customer acceptance of new product introductions and innovations.
  • Understand local market dynamics and incorporate them into sales plans.
  • Manage and utilize budgeted trade dollars related to operator and distributor spending.
  • Ensure sales forecast and profit targets are met.
  • Execute promotional and scheduled activities to drive results.
  • Identify and follow-up on new operator sales opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from a 4-year college or university (required).
  • 4+ years of related experience and/or training, preferably in the foodservice industry.
  • Ability to lift and carry 30 pounds.
  • Ability to travel/drive up to 50%.
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs and Sales Reporting Systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the foodservice industry is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter and manage unexpected demands.
