About the position

The Account Executive II at MedImpact Healthcare Systems is responsible for managing complex client relationships and ensuring the success of the overall business relationship with assigned accounts. This role involves strategic support for achieving financial goals, overseeing client deliverables, and leading account teams to enhance customer satisfaction. The position operates with a high level of autonomy and requires strong negotiation and consultative selling skills to manage large, complex clients effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage client-specific strategic, financial, and business relationship plans.
  • Manage large, highly complex clients with intricate business needs.
  • Ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet quality expectations.
  • Optimize growth and profitability for assigned accounts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with clients at the executive level.
  • Utilize financial models to analyze and present business scenarios to clients.
  • Organize and lead client business planning meetings and financial performance reviews.
  • Research market trends and competitive practices to identify opportunities for clients.
  • Mentor new Account Executives during the onboarding process.
  • Monitor client service delivery and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal leaders for problem-solving and planning.
  • Ensure client retention and manage contract renewals, including RFP and negotiation processes.
  • Develop presentations for assigned Book of Business.
  • Provide feedback on strategic plan performance to management.
  • Oversee projects and client initiatives, assisting with client requests.
  • Support the implementation process for new clients and collaborate with sales teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university.
  • 7 to 10 years of related experience in a healthcare or PBM environment.
  • Experience working with complex, large key accounts in PBM, HMO, or related healthcare management industries.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid and Medicare is preferred.
  • Experience in the Self-Insured benefits arena, preferably with Employers, TPAs, or related entities.
  • Experience in Managed Care Benefits, preferably with a PBM or managed healthcare services.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare products and contracts.
  • Outstanding knowledge of health benefits and government prescription programs.
  • Strong computer and analytic skills, including MS Office proficiency.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
