About the position

The Account Executive at KOAA is responsible for helping local businesses grow by providing them with effective multi-platform advertising solutions. This role involves selling a variety of advertising options, including digital marketing and broadcast television, while ensuring excellent customer service and account management.

Responsibilities

  • Sell advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.
  • Analyze customer needs and apply customized advertising solutions using the Scripps Sales Process (SSP).
  • Facilitate the use of digital marketing options alongside television commercial airtime sales.
  • Independently prospect and secure appointments, perform needs analysis, and develop customized solutions.
  • Negotiate program ratings and advertising rates with agencies to maximize revenue.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing best-in-class customer service and growing accounts through referrals.
  • Perform client services including media avail negotiations and presentation preparation.
  • Manage a sales funnel using CRM systems and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to the creative development of campaigns through client communication and needs analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including entertaining clients.
  • Perform routine administrative functions of a media salesperson.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • Generally 2+ years of proven sales success preferred.
  • Experience in strategic account management, broadcast ratings, and digital execution preferred.
