About the position

The Account Executive, Local at KOAA The E.W. Scripps Company is responsible for helping local businesses grow by providing them with effective multi-platform advertising solutions. This role involves selling a variety of advertising options, including Over The Top (OTT) video, digital marketing strategies, and broadcast television, while applying the Scripps Sales Process to meet customer needs and maximize their return on investment.

Responsibilities

  • Sell advertising solutions to local and regional businesses and advertising agencies.
  • Apply the Scripps Sales Process (SSP) to analyze customer needs and provide customized advertising solutions.
  • Facilitate the customer's access to a full array of digital marketing options in addition to television commercial airtime sales.
  • Independently prospect and secure appointments, perform needs analysis, and develop customized solutions.
  • Present and close sales to develop and maintain new business from traditional and non-traditional advertisers.
  • Use ratings data and market trends to negotiate program ratings and advertising rates with agencies.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients, providing best-in-class customer service and growing accounts through referrals.
  • Perform client services including media avail negotiations, presentation preparation, and revenue collection.
  • Effectively manage a sales funnel using CRM systems and monitor key performance indicators.
  • Contribute to the creative development of campaigns through client communication and needs analysis.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, including entertaining prospective and existing clients.
  • Perform routine administrative functions of a media salesperson.

Requirements

  • BS/BA in related discipline preferred or equivalent years of experience.
  • Generally 2+ years of proven sales success preferred.
  • Experience in strategic account management, broadcast ratings, and digital execution preferred.
