About the position

Cumulus Media - Los Angeles (KABC and KLOS) is seeking passionate, motivated, goal-oriented, and highly competitive individuals for the position of Account Executive. This role is essential in driving the success of our radio stations, which include 95.5 KLOS-FM, known for its Classic Rock programming, and 790 KABC-AM, our premiere talk station. The ideal candidate will be a resourceful, organized, customer-focused problem solver with excellent communication skills and the ability to cultivate strong client relationships. As part of our team, you will be working in a dynamic environment that is home to some of the industry's top talent, including popular shows and personalities. In this position, you will be responsible for identifying client business needs by gaining a deep understanding of their goals, objectives, and processes, as well as their external environment, including key market and consumer trends. You will proactively develop customized advertising solutions to meet client objectives. Your role will involve delivering effective multi-platform, integrated sales presentations that encompass broadcast, digital, and events, along with negotiation and closing deals. You will also need to be well-versed in selling Cumulus' station digital assets, such as streaming, website advertising, and social media advertising, to provide a complete marketing solution to advertisers. A significant part of your responsibilities will include prospecting and aggressively seeking new clientele through networking, cold calling, canvassing, referrals, and other means to build and maintain a full pipeline of sales prospects. You will be expected to follow all station and corporate procedures for preparing orders, resolving billing issues, and submitting regular reports regarding sales, pipeline lists, forecasts, and competitive analysis. Staying abreast of the competitive landscape and emerging technologies will be crucial to best position Cumulus in the marketplace. Creativity and the ability to generate original ideas will also be key components of your success in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Identify client business needs by understanding their goals, objectives, and processes.

Requirements

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, social networking platforms, and CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience in developing new business relationships in an outside sales role.
  • Strong presentation skills to clients regarding sales opportunities and post-sale successes.
  • Understanding of lead generation and ability to connect with viable prospects.
  • Comprehension of sales metrics to fill a sales funnel and maintain a robust pipeline.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to grow professionally.
  • High energy and passion for the job.
  • Flexibility and creativity in approach.
  • Digitally savvy with a media sales background preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred.
