About the position

The Sales Representative at Merit Medical is responsible for presenting and selling medical products to new and existing accounts, ensuring customer satisfaction, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role involves making in-service presentations, coordinating with marketing and sales teams, and preparing sales reports while striving to meet personal and organizational sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain close relationships with new clients and existing accounts by meeting regularly to present and demonstrate Merit products.
  • Identify potential customers and introduce them to Merit products.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare customized drawings for clients needing custom kits or manifolds.
  • Prepare and submit pricing contracts to clients for products.
  • Follow up with clients to identify opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability.
  • Resolve problems with clients regarding manufacturing or delivery issues.
  • Coordinate with other Merit marketing and sales staff to ensure timely product delivery and gather customer feedback.
  • Make decisions regarding product pricing to optimize sales volume and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly reports summarizing sales results, contacts made, and suggestions for improvement.
  • Participate in sales training and planning meetings to learn about new products and marketing promotions.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about Merit and competitor products.
  • Set and achieve personal performance goals for sales volume and new client sales.
  • Participate as a member of the Merit sales team to improve market share and customer satisfaction.
  • Travel to perform sales duties with clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of direct sales experience, preferably in selling Oncology capital medical products.
  • Effective communication skills to understand and meet client needs.
  • High personal motivation and drive to achieve goals.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills and quick problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to learn and explain the usage of medical equipment.
  • Teamwork skills to achieve organizational goals.
  • Business mathematics skills for financial and sales information preparation.
  • Strong personal organization skills for recording and reporting information.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Extensive travel and long hours as required.
  • Excellent driving record with no more than one driving ticket in the last three years.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably in spreadsheets and word processing.
