About the position

The Sales Representative at Merit Medical is responsible for presenting and selling medical products to both new and existing accounts. This role involves maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met, and coordinating with marketing and sales teams to deliver products on time. The representative will also provide in-service presentations to clinicians, gather customer feedback, and prepare sales reports to optimize sales volume and profitability.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain close relationships with new clients and existing accounts.
  • Meet regularly with clients to present and demonstrate Merit products and explain their benefits.
  • Identify potential customers and introduce them to Merit products.
  • Monitor client satisfaction and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare customized drawings for clients needing custom kits or manifolds.
  • Prepare and submit pricing contracts to clients for products.
  • Follow up with clients to identify opportunities to increase sales volume and profitability.
  • Resolve problems with clients regarding manufacturing or delivery issues.
  • Coordinate with marketing and sales staff to ensure timely product delivery and gather customer feedback.
  • Make decisions regarding product pricing to optimize sales volume and profitability.
  • Prepare monthly reports summarizing sales results and suggestions for improvement.
  • Participate in sales training and planning meetings to learn about new products and marketing promotions.
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about Merit and competitor products.
  • Set and achieve personal performance goals for sales volume and new client sales.
  • Participate as a member of the sales team to improve market share.

Requirements

  • Must live in LA Metro area.
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of three years of direct sales experience, preferably in Oncology medical products.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and understand client needs.
  • High degree of personal motivation and drive to achieve goals.
  • Excellent oral presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn and explain the usage of medical equipment.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to document work performed.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Extensive travel and long hours may be required.
  • Excellent driving record with no more than one driving ticket in the last three years.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, preferably in spreadsheets and word processing.
