About the position

The Account Executive position at Energy Systems Group involves generating new business within the public sector by utilizing a consultative sales approach. This role requires building relationships with utility and public sector clients, understanding their needs, and translating those into feasible solutions. The position also involves frequent travel and collaboration with various stakeholders to develop financial solutions and strategic opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business through trade shows, research, and cold calls.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including trends and opportunities.
  • Cultivate effective business relationships and communicate solutions to meet customer goals.
  • Maintain open communication with customers to understand their needs and ensure solutions align with their goals.
  • Meet activity and result standards, including sales and gross margin goals.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals addressing customer needs, including financial proposals.
  • Maintain customer contact throughout the installation period to resolve any additional needs.
  • Monitor account plan progress, including market conditions and competitive activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Five or more years of industry experience selling large solutions, or equivalent education and experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree and six to eight years of related energy services experience.
  • Familiarity with engineering/building trades and/or mechanical aptitude.
