About the position

The Account Executive (AE) role at Top Hat offers an exciting opportunity to change the future of education by developing relationships with professors at colleges and universities. This position allows for autonomy in managing an exclusive territory, demonstrating the value of Top Hat's platform, and converting prospects into clients. The AE will play a crucial role in enhancing the educational experience for students and professors alike, making a significant impact on learning outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Find, create, facilitate, and close new business opportunities in assigned accounts.
  • Represent and sell the full suite of Top Hat and approved partner products and services, including digital textbook content and SaaS platform.
  • Effectively position and message Top Hat's value proposition to professors or department leaders using a mixture of inside and outside sales techniques.
  • Work closely with Sales Development Representatives, Customer Success Managers, and internal product and marketing partners to ensure a great customer experience and maximize revenue growth.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in a high-volume sales role, preferably selling to professors in person on campus.
  • Ability to drive and close large/complex deals, prospect effectively, and manage the full sales cycle including cold calling, demos, discovery, solution presentation, negotiation, and closing.
  • Experience working in a metrics-driven environment and ability to remain positive when facing objections.
  • Strong ability to interpret and apply feedback/coaching quickly.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience selling educational products or services to higher education institutions.
  • Familiarity with SaaS platforms and digital educational tools.
