About the position

The Account Executive - Screening at Guardant Health is a field-based role focused on promoting innovative cancer screening technologies, specifically targeting healthcare providers in primary care settings. This position is integral to the company's mission of improving patient outcomes through advanced oncology solutions, requiring a proactive approach to sales strategy and execution.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and target healthcare providers for high utilization of SHIELD to screen patients for colorectal cancer (CRC) and other cancers.
  • Meet or exceed sales goals, maximize promotional budgets, and execute the national sales strategy in accordance with Guardant Health standards.
  • Drive strategic business expansion and collaboration opportunities with primary care providers and their practices.
  • Develop and implement a business plan in line with brand strategy to support product launch.
  • Identify and partner with laboratories that offer phlebotomy draw agreements.
  • Initiate and secure lab service draw agreements, in-service and train on specimen collection and workflow.
  • Analyze competitive landscape and provide customer feedback to leadership.
  • Structure detailed strategic plans for gaining and retaining new and existing clients.
  • Manage implementation of promotional activities to support sales and marketing strategies.
  • Collaborate with sales team to ensure successful attainment of company goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of direct experience in a customer-facing sales role in the healthcare industry (diagnostics, medical device, and/or pharmaceutical sales).
  • Proven track record of consistent closing abilities and exceeding sales expectations.
  • Excellent oral and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to engage in a consultative selling process and connect client needs with company capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products and CRM systems (preferably Salesforce and Veeva).
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with critical deadlines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with sales/marketing of diagnostic products directly to primary care healthcare providers.
  • Product launch planning and execution experience.
  • Familiarity with the primary care practice landscape in the territory.
