About the position

The Account Executive for Security and Fire at Johnson Controls is responsible for driving sales of service offerings to building owners, primarily at the Director level. This role involves building and managing long-term customer relationships, promoting the company's value proposition, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective sales processes and technical solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the sale of Johnson Controls service offerings to owners, primarily at the Director level.
  • Promote the Johnson Controls value proposition to building owners by providing technical solutions and operational expertise.
  • Build and manage long-term customer relationships/partnerships with target and managed accounts.
  • Responsible for customer satisfaction and selling Security and Integrated Systems to the construction industry.
  • Cultivate and manage long-term relationships and seek out, qualify, and close new sales opportunities.
  • Obtain and close sales on a monthly basis and expand the depth and breadth of Johnson Controls offerings within an account.
  • Maintain frequent face-to-face contact with customers to drive penetration of Security and Integrated Systems and Services offering.
  • Actively listen, probe, and identify customer concerns and address them effectively.
  • Develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment with assigned accounts.
  • Collaborate with assigned contractors and consulting engineers to drive specifications towards Johnson Controls offerings.
  • Keep management informed of progress and account status, and seek assistance when needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience of more than eight years.
  • A minimum of two years of consultative progressive field sales experience in a highly complex sales process, preferably in the Fire/Security/IT industry with a strong emphasis on Security selling.
  • Excellent initiative and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence the market at key levels.
  • Technically savvy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in business or Engineering.
  • A proven track record of sales success in the Fire/Security/IT industry of five or more years.
