About the position

As an SMB Account Executive at Recurly, you will be responsible for originating new business opportunities and managing the entire sales cycle for small and medium-sized businesses. This role requires a proactive and results-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, leveraging sales skills and industry knowledge to identify prospects, build relationships, and drive revenue growth.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and target potential SMB clients through various channels, including cold calling, email campaigns, social media, and networking events.
  • Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments to understand client requirements and pain points.
  • Present and demonstrate our products/services to prospects, showcasing how they address client needs and deliver value.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling sales proposals, including pricing and contract terms.
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders within SMB organizations.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients throughout the sales process, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Negotiate and finalize contracts to close business deals, ensuring alignment with company policies and objectives.
  • Achieve or exceed assigned sales targets and quotas on a consistent basis.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to effectively position our solutions.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of our product/service offerings and their benefits to SMB clients.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and pipeline status in the CRM system.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on sales performance, opportunities, and market feedback.
  • Work closely with the marketing, sales development, and product teams to ensure alignment and support for sales efforts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven track record of successful sales experience, ideally in an SMB sales environment.
  • Experience in the Ecommerce or Consumer Goods industry.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, techniques, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency and drive to achieve goals.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience working with Ecommerce Agency partners is a plus.
