About the position

As an Account Executive on the SMB Sales Team at AppFolio, you will play a crucial role in driving sales and fostering relationships with small to medium-sized businesses. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to closing SMB-level opportunities. You will utilize Salesforce.com to manage your pipeline and work activities, ensuring that your forecasts are accurate and up-to-date. Your daily activities will include networking, building relationships, cold calling, following up on leads through emails, conducting product demonstrations, and executing service agreements. You will receive exceptional sales and product training, along with continued mentoring to support your career growth within the company. This hybrid role requires you to be in one of our office locations (Santa Barbara, San Diego, or Dallas) three times a week, allowing for collaboration with your team while also providing flexibility. We are looking for candidates who have a proven track record of success in sales, particularly in the SaaS space, and who possess the resilience and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of the sales cycle from prospecting to closing SMB level opportunities
  • Manage pipeline and work activities in Salesforce.com
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date forecasts
  • Network and build relationships with potential clients
  • Conduct cold calling and lead follow-up through emails
  • Perform product demonstrations and execute service agreements

Requirements

  • 2+ years of full-cycle SaaS sales experience in the SMB space or a Business Development Representative role at a SaaS/tech company
  • Experience using a consultative, solution-based sales methodology
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships
  • Resilience to work in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Proven record of success achieving and exceeding quotas
  • Solid understanding of technical applications used for selling such as MS Office Suite, Salesforce.com, and Zoom
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience preferred

Benefits

  • Base hourly wage of $27-36
