About the position

The Account Executive (AE) for National Property at Travelers is responsible for managing a portfolio of high-value, complex property risks. This role involves underwriting, negotiating customer accounts, and fostering relationships with agents and brokers to drive business growth and retention. The AE will also identify new business opportunities and execute sales plans while ensuring profitability and alignment with the company's risk appetite.

Responsibilities

• Manage the profitability, growth, and retention of an assigned book of business.
• Underwrite and skillfully negotiate customer accounts to minimize risk and maximize profitability.
• Negotiate and procure reinsurance for complex accounts as needed.
• Facilitate the placement of foreign admitted policies and assist in global underwriting services.
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with internal partners to create sales plans and identify cross-selling opportunities.
• Foster relationships with external partners by meeting with agents and brokers to market Travelers products.
• Identify and capture new business opportunities using consultative marketing and sales skills.
• Develop and execute agency sales plans and region/group sales plans.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree.
• Two years of underwriting experience.
• Three to five years of relevant underwriting experience with experience in National Property.
• Knowledge of property-related products and the local insurance market.
• Deep financial acumen and strong critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication skills for negotiating with agents and brokers.
• CPCU designation preferred.
