About the position

The Account Executive for the VAD (Ventricular Assist Device) position at Abbott is responsible for driving sales and growth within the Central Territory, focusing on Heart Failure solutions. This role involves engaging with hospitals to sell Driveline Supply services, external equipment, and remote patient monitoring services, while ensuring customer satisfaction and achieving defined sales goals.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure overall growth for assigned territory by meeting or exceeding defined New Driveline, Equipment, and Digital adoption goals.
  • Focus on depth penetration within key customer opportunities through compelling sales conversations.
  • Utilize Integrity Selling to assist key customers in understanding their needs and achieving successful outcomes.
  • Initiate clinical, evidence-based, and business-based sales conversations with customer call points regarding Acelis Connected Health service offerings.
  • Provide consultative insight into professional practices and efficiencies using data management.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in daily use of operating systems related to job functions, including Salesforce.com, Concur, and Outlook.
  • Collaborate with internal functional areas (Marketing, Sales, Clinical/Training, Operations) in planning and coordination of growth efforts.
  • Provide professional consultative reports to build collaborative relationships with key customers and provide patient educational resources.
  • Use sales and negotiating experience to overcome barriers to customer adoption and develop remote monitoring programs.
  • Conduct product presentation demonstrations as needed.
  • Maintain courteous and respectful working relationships with sales and service partners and teammates.
  • Follow all regulatory policies and procedures, including HIPAA requirements.
  • Participate in development opportunities and ongoing training.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or Business School certification or 1-3 years of related sales experience in Medical, DME, or Pharmaceutical.
  • Applicable experience with Acelis Connected Health or Abbott.
  • Ability to make decisions while following company procedures and governmental guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills to complete work within deadlines.
  • Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Critical thinking and reasoning skills to solve problems.
  • Ability to travel as required to perform job functions.
  • Ability to lift 15-20 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with traveling, position requires 80% travel.
  • Experience with mainstream office software including MS Windows, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com.
