About the position

The Group Sales Account Executive (AE) at Remington Park is responsible for representing the Group Sales and Catering department, focusing on outside and large group sales. The role involves finding new clients, nurturing existing relationships, and effectively communicating the entertainment packages offered by Remington Park. The AE will manage event reservations, coordinate catering details, and ensure client satisfaction while meeting sales revenue targets.

Responsibilities

  • Execute client event contracts, invoices, updates, and order forms; coordinate with internal departments.
  • Manage event reservations and maintain the Caterease Reservation System.
  • Manage and coordinate the details for client catering events, including linen colors, room layout, guest numbers, menus, dates, times, and special requests.
  • Conduct inbound and outbound sales calls and present amenity options to prospective clients.
  • Represent Remington Park at public sales events, such as consumer trade shows, with some travel required.
  • Maintain the appearance of assigned service areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
  • Meet or exceed the percentage of sales revenue forecasted by management each year.
  • Coordinate and obtain event payment from clients.
  • Collaborate with other departments to organize and implement large group needs.
  • Manage the organization and timing of work assignments for efficient scheduling and implementation of group events.
  • Coordinate group sales promotions and special offers in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all promotional materials are received and positioned correctly for each group sales event.
  • Authorize final guest counts for group events and provide information to the Food & Beverage catering manager.
  • Coordinate trophy reports to the racing office weekly and facilitate group presentations in the winners circle as needed.
  • Engage in marketing promotion efforts as required.
  • Demonstrate excellent employee support and external customer service.
  • Monitor and replenish departmental supplies and materials as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations, laws, and internal policies.
  • Greet incoming guests and provide directions to their parties.
  • Keep count of incoming guests for attendance records.
  • Review the Weekly Event Sheet for daily group requirements.
  • Perform administrative duties including filing, processing payments, answering phones, and data entry.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in hospitality, sales, or marketing-related field.
  • 1-2 years of work-related experience in Food and Beverage, catering, or event sales/planning.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret various instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work within schedule constraints.
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Proficient in organization and prioritization of work while meeting multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and prepare documents, reports, and correspondence.
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
