About the position

The Sales Account Executive at WJTV in Jackson, MS is responsible for generating advertising revenue through established and new client relationships. This role focuses on both television and digital advertising, aiming to grow sales volume and exceed revenue goals while serving the local business community.

Responsibilities

• Generates advertising revenue by calling on established agencies and cold-calling new prospects.
• Implements strategies to consistently grow revenue and exceed revenue goals.
• Establishes credible relationships with the local business community.
• Prospects, qualifies, closes, and grows new business.
• Makes sales calls on existing and prospective clients.
• Maintains assigned accounts and develops new accounts.
• Prepares and delivers sales presentations to clients.
• Continues to learn and implement new strategies and products.
• Explains to customers how specific types of advertising will help promote their products or services effectively.
• Provides clients with information regarding rates for advertising placement in all media.
• Develops advertising schedules with clients and station personnel responsible for placing advertising into station media.
• Works with creative services in the production of client's creative elements for both broadcast and digital advertising campaigns.
• Responsible for order entry, contracts, follow-up, and collections.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Mass Communications, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.
• Minimum two years' experience in sales, preferably in the media field.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Experience achieving long-range objectives and implementing the strategies and actions to achieve them.
• Knowledge of digital marketing basics (Google/Facebook, etc.) preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint and basic office equipment required.

• Base Pay Range: $35-50k; $100k+ potential
