About the position

Ebix is seeking an Account Executive for the SmartOffice Sales Department. This role is pivotal in driving sales and fostering relationships within the insurance and financial services sectors. The Account Executive will be responsible for understanding the buying processes of prospects and implementing effective outbound sales strategies. This includes developing credibility and trust with potential clients, as well as nurturing existing relationships to influence buying decisions and resolve customer issues. The position requires a consultative sales approach, focusing on the value and return on investment of Ebix's SmartOffice solutions. The Account Executive will track and assist new prospects during their free trial period, conduct product demonstrations, and provide clients with up-to-date information regarding products, services, and pricing. They will prepare and present sales proposals that highlight the value of SmartOffice solutions to both current and prospective clients. The role involves selling Ebix software and services to various organizations, including risk and insurance management firms, corporations, and public entities. The Account Executive will be expected to generate, manage, and grow a pipeline of qualified leads, moving them through the sales pipeline to achieve targeted revenue and quota attainment. This position is not just about closing deals; it also involves a deep understanding of the CRM software market and the ability to leverage technology to track and manage relationships with prospects. The ideal candidate will possess a solution-oriented mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a competitive environment. They will also be required to attend industry trade shows and follow up on leads, showcasing their ability to build rapport with diverse personalities and collaborate across various internal departments.

Responsibilities

  • Understand prospect buying processes and methodologies
  • Develop and implement outbound sales prospecting/outreach
  • Develop credibility, trust and build relationships with prospects
  • Build existing relationships with current clients to influence buying decisions and solve customer problems
  • Demonstrate an ability to cross-sell and up-sell
  • Track and assist new prospects during their free trial period
  • Conduct product demonstration requests
  • Provide clients with up-to-date product, service, and price information
  • Prepare and present sales proposals highlighting the value of SmartOffice solutions to current and prospective clients
  • Sell Ebix software/services to risk and insurance management organizations, corporations, and public entities
  • Use a consultative solution sales approach, selling on value and return-on-investment
  • Generate, manage, and grow a pipeline of qualified prospects/leads
  • Move leads through a sales pipeline to achieve targeted closed revenue and quota attainment

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (marketing, business admin, psychology, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct sales experience in the insurance industry
  • Experience prospecting new business and closing deals using market research
  • Past experience with technology and/or software sales preferred
  • Ability to assess problematic situations and provide cohesive prospect/customer solutions
  • Experience in business development, lead nurturing, and contract negotiation
  • Ability to make compelling and effective new business/sales presentations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Continuous learning orientation with interest in participating in consultative sales training programs
  • Willingness to travel to current and prospective customers
  • Ability to represent Ebix at industry-related conferences, trade shows, and events
  • Excellent interpersonal rapport building skills with multiple prospect/customer personalities
  • Ability to collaborate with a range of internal support departments and work across divisions
  • A track record of new business prospecting and success managing a group of assigned key accounts

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of the CRM software market or the ability to learn new software quickly
  • Possess knowledge of the latest cloud service offerings, toolsets, operating systems, and browsers
  • Must be internet savvy and have computer literacy in Windows applications including proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to manage/multitask multiple projects
  • Effective at lead follow up
  • Proven ability to solve customer problems thoughtfully, methodically, and quickly
  • Willingness to collaborate in a highly competitive environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills - ability to clearly communicate with engineering, technical, and business analysts
  • Must be experienced in reporting key sales and business metrics
