About the position

The Account Executive (AE) at Dow Jones is responsible for managing a defined set of customer accounts, typically between 30 and 40, and for prospecting new business opportunities. The AE's primary goal is to retain and grow existing contract revenue while also initiating sales activities with new buying centers. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, effective communication, and a deep understanding of the industries served by Dow Jones products.

Responsibilities

  • Generate new streams of revenue through sales of Dow Jones products and services.
  • Complete territory analysis to identify potential buying centers and develop a plan to grow the territory.
  • Retain contract revenue in the assigned set of customers and ensure products meet their business needs.
  • Maintain customer satisfaction through regular communication and relationship building.
  • Manage account renewals and fulfill contractual obligations.
  • Develop a strong understanding of client businesses and resolve issues promptly.
  • Ensure customer training and awareness of products are provided effectively.
  • Identify opportunities for increased revenue within accounts and engage with Sales Specialists as needed.
  • Collaborate with the extended sales team on retention initiatives.
  • Clearly express the value proposition of Dow Jones products to clients and prospects.
  • Manage sales forecasts and pipeline for renewals and additional sales opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate client records in the global CRM system.

Requirements

  • Strong time management skills and ability to implement effective administrative systems.
  • Results-oriented with a commitment to achieving new business goals.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and customers effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional negotiation and closing skills with a proven track record in sales.
  • At least 5 years of experience selling information to large enterprise accounts.
