About the position

The Account Executive at Republic Services is responsible for identifying leads and proactively selling new and profitable business within a designated geographic area. This role involves selling a comprehensive suite of products related to waste management and recycling, engaging with prospective clients, and delivering tailored sales presentations to meet their needs. The Account Executive plays a crucial role in driving revenue growth and enhancing customer relationships through effective sales strategies and market awareness.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies viable leads, manages prospects, and acquires new, profitable commercial, industrial, and recycling business to meet and exceed monthly established targeted revenue goals.
  • Follows up on leads received by Lead Generators within 2 hours and creates follow-up tasks in Salesforce to determine the next steps.
  • Utilizes Salesforce daily to schedule and document all activities, developing robust information profiles on prospective customers.
  • Prepares and delivers sales presentations to prospective new clients and follows up with key decision makers to close sales.
  • Completes consistently scheduled phone blocks and cold call prospecting activities to establish initial and follow-up appointments with decision-makers.
  • Maintains awareness of market behavior and competitive trends to anticipate changing customer needs.
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of the Company's services, lines of business, and pricing structures to offer additional services to clients.
  • Completes required Customer Service Agreements, reports, and other paperwork in a timely manner according to Company policy.
  • Regularly meets with Sales Manager to review customer retention activities, progress versus goals, and status of key customer relationships.
  • Builds relationships and increases Company visibility through participation in Company-sponsored activities and community events.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in sales, preferably in the waste management or environmental services industry.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with clients and stakeholders.
  • Ability to utilize Salesforce or similar CRM software for managing leads and customer relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet and exceed sales targets and goals.
  • Knowledge of waste management services and recycling processes.
