About the position

The Account Executive role is focused on providing high-quality service to clients while ensuring satisfaction through effective account management and communication. This position involves monitoring accounts, evaluating coverages, negotiating with underwriters, and preparing proposals, all aimed at maintaining and growing client relationships. The Account Executive is responsible for managing the account life cycle, addressing client issues proactively, and seeking new business opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the account life cycle: pre-renewal, renewal, post-renewal, stewardship, and client visits as needed.
  • Work with team members at all levels to ensure client satisfaction and proactively address client issues.
  • Manage and grow underwriter relationships to ensure understanding of goals and expectations.
  • Handle day-to-day account transactions including additions/deletions of vehicles, property acquisitions, exposure changes, contract reviews, coverage analysis, and program recommendations.
  • Submit renewal business to various markets and maintain productive relationships with insurance company underwriters and staff.
  • Generate accurate renewal submissions, proposals, and handle surplus lines filings in a timely manner.
  • Conduct policy administration including checking policies, coverage analysis, endorsements, and due diligence reviews during mergers and acquisitions.
  • Seek out new business through referrals, cross-selling, and account rounding.
  • Prepare and produce all elements of presentations for client meetings and represent the company effectively.
  • Attend client meetings, address client questions, and identify next steps as appropriate.
  • Benchmark and present quotes to clients, including recommendations for enhancing the insurance program.
  • Coordinate invoicing of agency and direct bills and manage accounts receivable collection.
  • Document client activity in the Sagitta system and provide status progress reports to managers and clients.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of brokerage experience in an Account Executive role preferred.
  • Knowledge of general liability, workers' compensation, property, crime, inland marine, group automobile, fiduciary, and related lines of business.
  • Understanding of insurance carriers' risk appetite and industry preferences.
  • Ability to develop innovative and customized business solutions.
  • Professional communication skills to engage with C-Suite executives across various industries.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong negotiation and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, Excel, and PowerPoint; experience with Vision or Applied systems preferred; experience with Sagitta System is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • College degree in Insurance or related field preferred.
  • New Jersey or New York P&C license.
