About the position

The Account Executive at ENERGY SYSTEMS GROUP® is responsible for generating new business within the Public Sector Central Region, focusing on utility and public sector clients. This role involves a consultative sales approach to develop leads and relationships, translating customer needs into feasible solutions while collaborating with the operations team. The position requires frequent travel and aims to achieve sales objectives and market share through effective communication and relationship management.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect for new business through various channels including trade shows, publications, and cold calls.
  • Develop thorough knowledge of the renewable energy industry, including trends and opportunities.
  • Cultivate effective business relationships and communicate solutions to meet customer goals.
  • Maintain open communication with customers to understand their needs and ensure alignment with solutions.
  • Meet activity and result standards, including sales targets and gross margin goals.
  • Prepare and present professional proposals addressing customer needs, including financial proposals.
  • Maintain customer contact throughout the installation period to address any additional needs.
  • Monitor account plan progress, including market conditions and competitive activity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related field.
  • Five or more years of industry experience selling large solutions or equivalent education and experience.
  • Highly effective sales negotiation and closing techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Ability to compose proposals, reports, and business correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from various stakeholders.
